S. Taponier - Free Hostage

Reporters for TV magazin "Pieces a convictions" (EN: Incriminating Evidences), Hervé Ghesquière and Stéphane Taponier, journalists for France 3 channel, of french TV Group France Television, were kidnapped on December 29th 2009, in the East of Afghanistan, with three Afghans teammates: the translator, the point man and the driver.
The kidnapping took place on a road of Kapisa Province (East) by a group af armed Talibans, under the orders of a Kâpîssâ Province commander, who was involved in Uzbish's ambush, according to the DGSE (Directorate General for External Security, French Intelligence Agency).

So far, they are still hostages, likely in Afghanistan...
UPDATE (06/29/2011) : Hervé Ghesquière, Stéphane Taponier and their three teammates were freed after 547 days of detention.

Reporters pour le magazine "Pieces a convictions", Hervé Ghesquière et Stéphane Taponier, journalistes pour la chaîne France 3, du groupe France Television, ont été enlevés le 29 décembre 2009, dans l’est de l’Afghanistan, avec leurs trois accompagnateurs afghans : le traducteur, l’organisateur de rendez-vous, ainsi que le chauffeur.
L’enlèvement a eu lieu sur une route de la province de Kapisa (Est) par un groupe de talibans armés aux ordres d’un commandant de la province de Kâpîssâ lequel avait participé à l’embuscade d’Uzbin, selon la DGSE.

A ce jour, ils sont toujours otages, probablement en Afghanistan...
MAJ (29/06/2011) : Hervé Ghesquière, Stéphane Taponier et leurs trois accompagnateurs ont été libérés après 547 jours de détention !
